The upper and lower Keltner channel (20 EMA, 2 ATR).

A candle closes outside the channel, and the next candle closes back inside it in the opposite colour.

3Where is it wrong?

Beyond the extreme of the last 4 closed candles.

4Where does it end?

The 20 EMA, the middle of the channel.

## What it means

The Keltner channel sits 2 ATRs either side of the 20 EMA. A close outside it is stretched. When the next candle closes back inside, price often drifts back toward the middle.

## How it is confirmed without repainting

The channel is built from closed candles, and both the close outside and the close back inside must be finished candles.

## When it fails

Breakouts with momentum, where price walks along the outside of the channel.
