The Supertrend line's value on the flip candle, fixed there.

## What it means

Supertrend draws a line a set distance (based on average true range) away from price. When price closes across it, the trend has flipped. The line then trails price as a stop.

## How it is confirmed without repainting

The line is calculated on closed candles. A flip that happens mid-candle but not on the close is ignored.

## When it fails

Frequent flips in a sideways market.
