What happens if…
Worked out from each firm’s published rules for one account on day one, from the starting balance. Simplified; the firms’ full terms decide.
You lose $1,000 on your first day.
The $1,000 daily loss limit is hit: trading stops for the day. You keep the account with $1,000 of drawdown left.
You keep trading with $1,000 of drawdown left.
You’re up $1,000 by lunch, then close the day flat.
End-of-day trailing: nothing moves until the close, so closing flat leaves the full $2,000.
End-of-day trailing: nothing moves until the close, so closing flat leaves the full $2,000.
You make the whole profit target in one day.
No consistency rule in the evaluation: one day can meet the whole $3,000 target, subject to any minimum trading days.
A 45% consistency rule applies in the evaluation: one day can’t be most of your profit, so a one-day pass isn’t possible. Check the firm’s exact wording.
You fail once and try again.
No resets are sold: a second try is a new evaluation, $2,380 in total at list price.
Monthly billing: a second try usually means another month or a reset. Two months cost $378 at list price.
